Sjogren's Syndrome is an autoimmune disease that is more common than Lupus and as common as Alzheimer's and as debilitating as Rheumatoid Arthritis. Once thought to be rare, it is the second most common rheumatologic condition.

Sjogren's Sarasota provides information and educational resources on a variety of issues pertaining to health and wellness.

Located on the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast of Florida in  the United States. It is a tropical community meeting the needs of residents and visitors alike.

The photograph above was taken on Siesta Key in Sarasota. The beach scene aptly depicts not only the area, but the physical attributes of those with Sjogren's Syndrome. 

This chronic inflammatory process decreases the amount of moisture necessary for normal bodily functioning. 

The dryness of the body organs  is symbolized by the sand. The water is the moisture that is in inadequate supply in those with Sjogren's Syndrome.

 There is a program entitled The Woman Who Couldn't Cry about Sjogren's Syndrome.  It will air in Sarasota, Florida in the United States on Comcast   Check with your television service provider to find out when and where it is shown in your locale.

 It includes some of the rarely acknowledged  signs that begin in childhood.
